Hi, im another newbie. Walking is better than you think as a starting point. Im not too big anymore. Last summer i was bad and didnt do as much exercise as normal, in fact hardly any. However, i walked a round trip of nearly 2miles to work each day 5 days a week, which kept weight off easily. You wil prob find that you won't have to alter your diet too much if you are just keeping relatively active.
