Anyone here gone through weight loss surgery?

Well...I suppose my story is very similar to other women here and in the world. Had a load of kids and gained a ton (literally) of weight and now Im trying to lose it.

I want to have surgery but simply cannot afford it. Ive tried diet after diet with no success (I think some of that is willpower though).

I am extremely determined to lose weight now, I think I finally got my head in the right direction to actually make a sincere change in lifestyle. I decided to take a fairly drastic approach and follow a diet that is similar to that which people who have weight loss surgery done.

I'm starting out on a liquid diet for two weeks. Most people who have surgery are put on a clear liquid diet for a week and then go to a normal liquid diet for another week so that their stomachs can adjust to surgery. I'm using this approach to shrink my stomach, taking in only 6 oz at a time and drinking plenty of water between each two hour consumption.

After this I'm going to a soft foods diet and adding possibly some fish for two weeks, eating no more than 6 oz at a time every 3 hours or so, with a good combination of protien/carbs (much like the diet in "Body for Life")

After two weeks of that I'll introduce more solid foods at the same portions with the same combination of protien/carbs and see how this works.

If anyone is in the Dallas, Texas area and would like to join me for some walks Id love to have a walking buddy. I'm also using DDR's (Dance Dance Revolution) fitness program daily. I've joined my local rec center as they have a fitness room that will enable me to use some weights and gain some muscle.

If anyone else is interested in my progress please feel free to email me and I'll let you know how the diet plan works out.
