Pesto on Pasta
Pesto is a great way to add flavor to pasta. It is high in fat but the fat is usually from olive oil which is a monunsaturated fat that is heart healthy. I would recommend you use it in small amounts--it is very rich tasing--no more than a 1/2 TBS per one cup serving of pasta. Also, try a variety of different pestos made with different oils, herbs, and nuts (basil, cilantro, walnuts, pine nuts, olive oil, etc..)
