"Because the biggest thing for me is that I want to be around in good health to see my children grow up and grow old with my hushand."
I so totally hear you!!! It is definetly a challenge with children keeping you busy and family that doesn't have to worry so much about what they eat. My family are all skinny people as well.
I wonder if you try talking to them each individually, tell them what you are doing and ask them for their support in this.
I think everyone is different and there are so many diet/exercise plans out there. What works for me might not work for you, but I will share with you what I am doing.
Each night I plan what I am going to eat the next day, 3 meals and 2 snacks. I try to add in at least 4-6 servings of veggies, 1-2 of fruit, and eat balanced portions of whole grains and protein. I allow myself some freebies(sugar free jello, 25 calorie hot cocoa, a sugar free hard candy, plain popcorn) for when I feel I need to eat, but it is not time for it. I also try to keep some cut up veggies handy for those snacking moments.
6 mornings a week, I do 15 minutes of weight training working 2 opposing muscle groups at a time. 2-3 X a week, I fit in some walking or other aerobic activity, either in the morning or whenever I can fit it in.
I have only been doing this for 1 week, but I feel great!! I am waiting for another week before I weigh myself. But I think the important thing is that I am taking steps to improve my health so that I can live a long healthy life with my family - taking care of them, instead of them taking care of me.
My cravings have gone down, and I eat so many more veggies, it almost feels like my body is craving those veggies!!!
I hope, rather I know I can do this. I am confident in my abilities and I have talked to others for support. I think coming here and sharing with others helps.
Good luck and keep us posted!!
