Cool I Love to eat out!

I do the Zone diet, and that makes it easy to eat out!

My usual game plan is to skip the complimentary bread, chips, etc. I'll share in the appetizer if it suits the way I eat (low carb). For my meal, I'll order a seafood, fish or chicken dish usually, and ask them to replace the rice, potato, or pasta with veggies. Last weekend we ate at Olive Garden. One of their specials right now is Shrimp Caprese, shrimp tomatoes and a little melted cheess on a bed of pasta. I asked them to put it on a bed of veggies instead. So, I had the shrimp, tomatoes and melted cheese (it was just a little cheese) on a veggie mix of zucchini, yellow squash, onions, mushrooms , peppers and a few carrots. It was delicious! Also had a little white wine to go with it. The waiter said the veggie version looked better to him than the dish served the usual way on pasta.

For a quick lunch out, I'll get something like a chicken caesar salad, a bowl of black bean soup and some fruit.
