All right! Looks as if we have the makings of a lively debate here. Seems that Nicky was upset that I left my web address in a previous post. Well, if you go to any forum on any subject on the net, you'll find people append their sig file to the end of their message. It's standard and accepted practice. Mine doesn't imply or mention any product. I never suggested Nicky or anyone else go to my website.
A web address is just a safer way for a person to contact someone if they wish to, rather than leaving an e-mail address in a post. At least on your website, you can encrypt your e-mail address in Java Script to be safe from harvesting bots.

A question was asked and I gave my view. "Shifting calories" and "adjusting your metabilism' sounded hokey to me- and it still does.

Yeah, I am a chef. And I support the "sound nutrition and healthy eating approach". I suggested to Nicky she try to increase her daily variety and consumption of healthy foods, start to slowly cut out the junk foods, drink plenty of water, throw exercise into the equation, and the benefits will come. How's that selling anything?

Nicky also seems to have a problem with another post I put up in regard to an inquiry about a Healthy Burrito Recipe. I clearly stated a disclaimer in that post that: "I'm telling you before you click over that this recipe does use an ingredient from a company that you may not have heard of."

That's a far cry from saying "here's a site where you can buy all sorts of weight management products at really reasonable prices" and then including a link to a web address to go to.

As jeeplaw correctly points out, as long as " people have good, sound advice and DO NOT preface it with 'go to my website to learn more', they are welcome here". I certainly didn't do that in any of my posts. If I offended anyone, I apologize, but I still maintain I followed the rules of fair play.

Which begs the question then, jeeplaw. As administrator of this board, do you have an issue with people appending their personal web address to their messages as long as it doesn't imply the name of a company or business?

Well, here's my thinking...since i actively moderate the postings here, I get the chance to make judgement calls. I do not have an issue with people who reference their personal websites in their postings. However, and before the great crash that left this message board empty, I had to be careful and moderate the constant spam that people posted about how to lose weight and go to my site to find out more, pay me $5 and you'll see.

My thinking about creating this site was to encourage others to openly discuss weight loss in general, any plan, any exercise..just provide an open forum to do so. That being said, I think people like you who do provide a good perspective are more than welcome here. Any post that contributes to the wellbeing of this site to help others lead a healthy lifestyle is more than welcome.

Like I said, since I actively moderate, I'm not really worried to much about this. I do have a message area set up for 'great deals' and stuff so if you DO want to promote your site (where you may be selling stuff..i don't know since i haven't visited), you can do it for free there.
