Congratulations Dawn!
Wow... losing 70 pounds is great and I am happy for you. Your story reminded me about my own story because I was 230 pounds when I decided to lose weight once and for all.
I agree with you. I did a lot of research on how to lose weight safely without starving and reading success stories. Believe me, that gave me great motivation and the conviction that I could do it too. Hence, whenever I can help others looking to lose weight seriously, I am always handy to share tips.
You can read my Story and how I lost 80 pounds and keeping the weight off for over 3 years by clicking here.

I also agree with you...it is not a diet but a way of living. Selecting healthy food choices, exercising, and being motivated.
Again, congratulations!!!!
YOU GOOOOOOOO...

just an update for you all..im down 80 now and just under 20 pounds to go before im at my goal of 135. And now after visiting home one weekend family hadnt seen me in six months wants to know now what my secret is. So now im mentoring my middle sis to get back to healthy eating and lifestlye. Diet is a bad word..and its a temp. word that always stops when someone gets where they want to be. Healthy eating and life style is the right way to put it..cause once you get to where you want to be you have to maintain it. it took you a long time to get there..youll have to continue so that you dont go back to where you used to be. eat healthy..

My congratulations but...what was responsible for your back pains and knee pains? Was it your weight or do you have arthritis? I too suffer back pain but I'm not fat anymore...

I found out that my back pains as well as my knee pains were due to so much extra weight on my body. The human body can only take so much..and after reading more and more about being overweight and what it does to the body..I found out that the majority of the people that were overweight suffered from some form of joint or back pain. Think about it if you carried around two ten pounds bags of floor all day long your arm joints would cramp up and be in pain. Well when you take at least 20 pounds off your body the pain starts to go away. Just like if you put the 20 pounds of floor down you feel relief from putting them down. Im sure that some people suffer from arthistis no matter what age they are..but I have read many success stories where when they complained of back and joint pain that once they lost the weight the pains went away. I was reading in my shape mag. yesterday that people that are overweight in their early 20s are at higher risk of getting arthirtis at an older age if they didnt get rid of the weight. But every person is different. So far im down to 148 and have around ten or so to go till im at my maintance weight.
