Okay, new here so bear with me if I am posting in wrong area.

I have begun a new program that I kinda made up. I have been at it for a week. I watch calories (about 1200). I run the stairs at work (4 flights-49 stairs) about 4 times a day...before each meal/snack. I drink a minimum of 64 ozs of water a day and take a multivitamin. I should add that I commute 180 miles a day so I get up at 5 am and home at 6:30 to 7pm. I am trying to add exercise wherever I can. I am also wife and mom of 3. So my life is very busy.

What is your opinion of my plan so far? Anything anyone would adjust? Also, I am interested in the idea of shifting calories but only in that I think that your metabolism needs a jolt every now and then. So any advice welcome...I am not buying anymore plans, diets, supplements!

Bonus-If you are a busy mom or dad like me and you have tried something that works on a limited free time schedule please share with me.......I know I need more exercise so tell me!!!! I am not in an area where I can walk safely outside. The only thing I have left to consider is Butt crunches in the car while driving!!!

Wow, I understand time limitations. I also have 3 children, sometimes when the baby hasn't slept, which means neither have I, it can be a challenge to fit in exercise. I have been doing 15 minutes of weight training a day (mostly using hand weights) and then I try to do 2-3 days of aerobic/walking. I only work 1 muscle group a week. So on Monday I might do biceps and triceps, Tuesday squats and ham curls, etc. It has really helped me for the time crunch life brings.

Stairs are an excellent aerobic activity. Weight training does well for bumping up the metabolism. Maybe you could take some hand weights with you to work to do on your breaks.

If you want more information on what I do send me a PM. Good Luck!!!
