What am I doing here?
Okay I've never joined a forum like this before but I've found myself searching the internet for sites containing ways to lose weight/eat healthy and I stumbbled here.
I'm 23 years old. I'm 5'6 and weight 130. I wear a size 6 and I'm very athletic. What's the problem you say? I'm paranoid. I'm scared to death what I eat will catch up. And I eat... a lot. I love food. I wouldn't say I'm an emotional eater but I have went for something unhealthy when I'm bored. I'm addicted to Chipolte right now and that HAS to stop. I love it, it's so good but very high in lots of things. I've got a great metabolism (thank you Mom!) but I'm noticing those few extra pounds now. They bother me. A lot. I'm not to the point where I just stop eating but I try to not eat as much in a meal or I drink water instead of colas and I can't get myself to commit. The motivation is not there. When people tell you " Ohhh you are fine, you are skinny. Don't worry" Well I feel not so skinny. I have for awhile. It's driving me nuts. I'm tired of waking up in the morning and thinking out a plan so I don't grab a chocolate bar or tell myself yep, THIS time I'll get on the treadmill, and don't.
I guess my problem is the motivation. How do I commit myself to something when there really isn't a problem right now? I dont want to come back here in a few years, overweight because I couldn't just do it....
Sorry, this is probably not even the place to vent. Thanks anyway..

Good question D, the way I look at it is from a "healthy" perspective...not a diet one. You're on the path to awareness, without a doubt. Starting now before it all catches up with you is an awesome way to look at it. Granted, your body type may not be one that puts on a ton of weight, but, cholesterol and diabetes DO kill and you don't have to be overweight to die from those two.
There's nothing wrong with eating good food, in proportion that is. Hell, one of my kicks is peanut butter..and I'll stay on that for a good two weeks before that craving goes away. Then I don't touch the stuff for another 3 months How screwed up is that?
Consider this a health perspective and not a diet one, and you should do alright.
