Diet buddy needed :O)
Hello, my name is Lisa and I need to lose about 20 lbs.
About 6 years ago I used e-Diets (to lose baby fat from having three children in three years) and it went really well. Just checking in and telling someone that I ate right, drank water and exercised helped me to do all the above.
I've gained 20 lbs in the past two years. I had a bad run with asthma (for the first time in my life at 38 years old) and the asthma meds made me so hungry it was unbelieveable.
Once I got off the asthma meds I tried running to lose weight, but I would leak a little, so I went to a urologist for a TVT (surgery that stops leaking). Unfortunately the surgery was a botch and I couldn't void without a cathater for three months, which is when I had the TVT reversed (Dec of 05). After that I was a physical wreck. During the three months of cathater use I was so sick--meds made me sicker (allergic reactions to them). It's taken me until just recently to regain my health and strength.
During that time I got involved in non-profit web building and I found myself sitting at my computer for long stretches. It was fun, but not active work. I've cut back on all of my web work hoping to regain my health.
I try to use a wonderful rebounder (Nedak) on a daily basis (since June 06). At first I could only stay on it for 5 or so minutes. Now I'm up to 30 to 40 depending on how strong I feel.
I use it outside on our deck for the benefit of fresh air and sunshine. My husband bought me a little shuffle that holds lots of bouncy songs.
However, the weight isn't coming off. I know I need to be patient, but when I was younger a few extra lbs would just FLY off of me. Now that I'm 40 it just seems to stick like crazy!
I want my old self back. I'm puffy and chubby. I want to see my slender self again.
I know how to eat right. I know about low-fat careful eating. I just don't do it as much as I used to. I need to be accountable to someone, because being accountable to myself doesn't seem to be working.
I would LOVE a diet buddy. Someone who is looking to eat right, drink H2O, moderate exercise and has healthy, positive outlook on life.
In my teens and 20's I struggled with eating disorders so I don't do fad diets or crash diets. I have weird allergies and can't eat processed foods like diet bars and shakes. I can't eat "fake" food.
I'd rather not pay $15 a month for e-diets or Weight Watchers and things like that if I can avoid it.
What I need is a diet buddy
Lisa

Hello,
I wish you good luck, I am 36, mother of one, and I have been dieting since June, and lost 58 pounds.
I did the Cambridge diet, I know you said you dont like shaes and bars, but they really worked for me. Actually it is the only diet that worked for me, I need to lose another 30 pounds.
Since you dont have that much too lose, you dont need to strain yourself too much, just watch your carb intake for few months, lots of vegetable (avoid fruit) and lean meat. (or soya, tofu etc, if you are vegetarian) cottage cheese works too,
You can always send me an e-mail at sainte_esprit@yahoo.co.uk andytime you feel support or feel like sharing with somebody.
I exercise every other day, I do cardio for an hour and weights for 1/2 hour usually.
Good luck, keep positive
Sainte

Lisa, our body changes in time and what has worked for us in the past might not work for us today.
I suggest going to Healthatoz and look for the Fitness/Diet Manager. It will be for free. You will need to be religious in entering all your daily intake and fitness regimen. it will calculate your calory intake and calories lost. Then, it will tell you give you a lifetime plan to lose that 20 lbs and keep it off.
I turned 35 this year, and I had lost 60 lbs within two years. And just little things I thought was good for me, turned out to work the opposite. I combined the planner from Healthatoz with the GI diet and cut out all the red light foods. And it's worked so well.
Good Luck!
