Hello, I am new at this and I feel somewhat silly seeking help. I am 21 years old and I wouldn't consider myself fat at all. Just in need of some maintainence. I have such a hard time getting motivated. Its so hard going this alone. All of my friends are stick thin and eat fast food ten times a week and loose weight doing it. My boyfriend tries to help, but he can eat just about everything because he has the metabolism of an Olympic athelete. I am sure I am not the only one... even when I think about a Krispy Kreme donut I gain two pounds. I just need some advice on as what to do to keep motived to improve myself. Not but two years ago I was twenty pounds lighter and a lot happier. I would greatly appreciate any words of encouragement or advice

HI,
One thing that I do when I have a hard time motivating myself is think about what I really want and do what I have to do to get it. Stay focused on your goal. Think about where you want to be and make your decisions based on what you would decide if you were already at your goal.
You didn't say if you were exercising or not. This would help out a lot. If you were able to do some weight training with some cardio you would see results quickly. Exercise is a big motivator for me.
Your friends might be able to eat the fast food but they are hurting themselves even if the scale is not moving up. Setting themselves up for heart problems.
Everyones body accepts food differently. You stated that if you even think of the food you gain weight...don't have those foods.
Best of luck to you,

Dear Jessimica2003-i know what u mean. i hav been dieting since oct.2006.loosing 80 pounds so far.it has been hard as I have to cook for everyone in my family.my hubby eats hashbrowns and fried eggs(2) and toast laden with buter and jam and oatmeal fritters fired and butter on them and syrup-drown in syrup and swigs it al down with milk.he eats everything and has about 3000 calories a day and sits in his office all day.he is overweight but he is "loosing".so insanely maddening.i am over across the table sipping on water and air and i gain.makes me so frustrated.but i am loosing cause i have been sticking to it.maybe not as crazy as him.he cuts back a little and looses. i read that it is cause men are more muscle and us gals are more fat.anyway-i guess we cann't compare bodies. i am like u too.gain at a wiff.i was at a resturant recently and i was eating this pot of steamed veggies. 4 very thin little gals were sitting across from us.eating and pigging out.i was so mad.hee hee.anyway.i have to listen to my body.it gains at everything.so i go easy and try low fat and no sugar and exercise.take care.rae-dean
