frustrated

I've been active all my life. I swam year round for eleven years, ran track and have recently taken up mountain biking. Yet I'm still very uncomfortable with my body. I'm 5'5" and weight 140 lbs. I go to the gym at least 3 times a week and am very health consciece about what i eat, although food is a very big weakness of mine. I broke down today trying to paint a self-portrait because i just hated what i saw. My arms lost a lot of muscle after swimming that has just turned to fat that i cannot get rid of and my torso looks like a barrel. Ive lost weight before but it just comes back, I'm getting to the point where i just want to give up and get fat. I'm in desperate need of support please help.-

Beth, no need to give up just yet. Believe me on that one
2ndly, how consistent are you with your eating habits? Do you eat at the same time every day? Would it be helpful to you to have your own journal on this site so that you have a recorded goal of what you need and like to do? (that's one of the features I'm implementing here).

You've got the support..you've got us. Most importantly, you DO have the desire to keep going. It's just a let down when you think you've hit a brick wall. I've been there too..MANY times. However, what keeps me going at times is the knowledge of what i need to do to get back on track. It's just the actual moment of putting it into practice.

How much water are you drinking? What kind of bad foods do you eat?
