Hey Jana, welcome...so what kind of diet are you on now? low carb, atkins? Just eat healthy? You'll get a TON of support here if you need, or just enough when you feel like you're being crowded. Hope you lose what you're expecting!

I'm just counting calories. I've been able to cut out quite a few calories (about 750 per day) with out sacrificinig too much/going hungry. I'm still eating plenty--1600 to 1800 calories per day. My main problem was that I was just waaaaay overeating. I've also started exercising, and I calculate that I'm burning another 200 calories per day there.
My doctor told me that I just HAD to lose some weight (and he is, of course, right), but he didn't think that I could do it by myself, and suggested I join some kind of group. Having some support always makes it easier.

there isn't much advice i can give except to stay AWAY from fats and oils. its EXTREMELY hard for your body to break them down...so they are stored immediatly...as fat. polyunsaturated fats aren't QUITE as bad, but that doesn't mean they're ok. saturated fats are the worst...i hope that helps a little
