Hello; I would like some help.
Hello everyone;
My name is Dave, and I'm an 18 year old high school student.
All my life, I have been a fairly obese kid. Recently I decided that I would no longer eat junk food and stuff like that. So for the past week, I have been eating more healthier things, and completely avoiding all things that could do harm to my body. It has been going pretty good, but I'm not sure if what I'm doing is exactly the right way to go.
I joined this forum to ask for advice. Any would be appreciated.
I am 6 feet tall, and weight roughly about 197 pounds. According to msn's BMI calculator, my body mass index is 26.7, or overweight, in other words. I happen to have fat in my thigh area, my stomach, lovehandles, a little bit on my arms (which appear to be a bit more muscular), my partially developed double chin, and my cheeks (both the upstairs and downstairs cheeks, if you get my drift). My diet lately has consisted of eating different things every 2-4 hours, although it hasn't exactly been consistant (2-5 hours). I have been eating half of power bars as one portion and then the other half about 3 hours later as another portion. Then I eat apples, bananas, carrots and some low-fat yogurt, up until dinner in which I eat whatever my mom puts on the plate (stuff like stuffed cabbages or sometimes steak). I will note that I do NOT eat breakfast when I wake up. I know this is bad, but my stomach feels like a blender for some reason if I eat anything directly in the morning. I usually wait 3-4 hours after waking up before I put anything in my stomach. I'd say that based upon a very rough estimate, I consume about 1,000-1,200 calories daily. My physical activity (which I'm ashamed to admit is only about 30 minutes a day) is skateboarding around the block a few times. That's pretty much all there is to me. Now, onto my questions;
What do you guys suggest I eat?
How often should I wait in between portions?
What workouts are there that may specifically target the fatness around my thighs, belly, and lovehandles?
If I think of anything else, I'll add it.
Thank you all for looking.
-Dave
