I think it is about time to consider getting professional help.

I personally have lost and maintained 60 lbs off in the last two years. During this time, I started a site dedicated to healthy dieting and fitness training. I really do daily research and posting on this topic.

If you are trying to lose over 100 lbs, you should really consult your doctor first. Your diet journey will be different than someone trying to lose 10 - 30lbs. A healthy weight loss will be between 15 - 25lbs per month, and will take you approximately 5 - 8 months to lose then you have to go through your maintenance program. Your doctor can recommend a nutritionist (Jenny Craig and Weight Watchers do not qualify, sorry) which will be the best place to start. To lose that weight and lose it safely, you will need cut down on your food intake - whether it's low calorie count, low carbs, etc. But you need to do it right. Fad diets will increase future health problems for you if you maintain the same weight you have now. You will need to also start your fitness regimen whether you like it or not.

I'm a big believer that you can shed the pounds if you want to. But sometimes it just needs more than sheer willpower to achieve it. Good luck!

what has helped me is by eating all your great foods rich in nutrients and vitamins at meal times. Have 3 meals a day with five hour breaks in between and plenty of water. Also dont it after its very important not to eat after 9.00. Maybe just try this for a week or two. Good Luck

Hi Vasinger! Are you still out there? Isn't it frustrating? Just like you, I've been exercising, eating well and still not losing.

I recently read an interesting article that talks about just how hard it is to lose and keep it off. After all 95-98% of people regain the weight they lose within five years. Studies show that overweight people who exercise actually live longer than skinny people who don't exercise! So I say, just keep doing that good four mile a day walk and you'll probably be fine. You're young so I'd hate to see you start the yo-yo cycle of starve and binge. Maybe you're just going to be a big guy all your life and that's really just fine.

Yes, Im still here ! Well, good news I have lost almost 50 lbs since 2005. Going from 301 lbs down to 255 lbs. I still have at least 50 more lbs to go before Im really in my ideal weight range. Its been very slow but its all worth it. I have change my whole way of eating and exercise. The weight came off eventually- it just took a lot longer than I thought. Right now, though, Im not foucoused on actual weight as I am just being more active. The big line is- I DIDNT DIET. I never went on a diet, I still ALL KINDS of foods, just less of them. And I exercise all the time and I watch salt and hidden calories.

Diet ad claims

I think why we all want the weight to come off fast is all the claims on TV and in ads."Lose 9 pounds in 3 days!" For me it has never been like that. Its more like 9 pounds in 8 weeks. But they wouldn't sell their product if they spoke the truth. Alot of the stuff celebrities and models do to get thin to me is like ???? I am not getting 10 mill on my job for being thin, so why torture myself by giving coffee enemas and guzzling apple cider vinegar, bleck! I think the most sound advice I have ever heard is eat a little less and exercise more...bingo!!!

Hi There!

Don't lose heart here. There is a terrific solution, and it's simple ~ notice I didn't say easy, because deciding to stay the course is never easy. My husband lost 60 pounds 16 months ago and has kept it all off. (Now, in my opinion, would be look even better with another 20 gone ....... well that's a dicussion for another day!). Point is, you need this twenty-first century technology that literally turns your body from a sugar burning machine into a fat burning machine, and this system does it easily and quickly. Would you like to know about it?

A New Way Of Looking At Weight Loss

Hi Vasinger,

I hope you're still out there. I'm so glad to see that you're seeing results for all your hard work and time. When I need to lose weight, I cleanse. That's because environmental wastes get stored in our fat tissues when our bodies intake more than what we can get rid of.

That's why some gurus say you should only safely lose a pound or two per week because if too much of that garbage in your fat cells gets released at once you could get sick. However if you know how to support your body during the cleansing process you can see safe weight loss without such hard work and in less time. You're actually helping your body do what it's trying to do anyway, get rid of wastes.

Cleansing is a very natural thing to do. Many societies of the world cleanse as a way to increase their health and vitality. That's what I do too. It's very restorative and encouraging to see the excess fat just melt away.

The other thing is to not intake things that your body doesn't recognize as food or beneficial to it. That's really hard in our polluted environment. Eat organically. Cut out refined and processed foods. Don't eat trans fats, MSG, or artificial sweeteners. Filter your water, don't use toxic cleaners around your home, etc. The cleaner your food and environment the less strain you'll put on your organs of elimination.
