Introducing myself...
Hello forum members! My name is Ashley and interested in losing weight and keeping it off!
Currently I weight 170 and would like to get down to the 140's-150's range for the up coming show season. Weight runs in my family and I inherited all those unwanted "weight traits". One of those weight traits includes a very slow metabolism.
I eat very healthy, raw fruits and vegetables every day. Tons of water, absolutely no pop. Whole wheat grains only. I try to avoid carbs as much as I can. No beef, but poultry and fish. Sugar is my enemy, for waist line and my skin. I hate salad dressing, call me strange, but I do.
So basically, I'm one heck of a healthy eater. Except for over the holiday's. Then I forget I'm a chunker and eat.
I exercise 3 or 4 times a week, depending on my work schedule and school. My routine at the gym consists of 45 minutes to and hour of cardio and 20 minutes of weight lifting. The lifting really depends on how tired I am from the cardio though. Then I typically work the abdominals and get a good stretch when I'm done.
Thing is, I want the weight to come off faster. I need to be down 20lbs in 2 months. Toned would be wonderful.
So any tips from my fellow members would be wonderful!

I am a newbie too! I have recently started a weight loss plan, and it seems to be working so far. I started with LA weightloss 3 weeks ago and have lost 9 lbs. I really like it so far. You get to eat lots of food, so I don't feel like I am starving myself. And I like the fact that I cook for myself, so I am learning how to eat healthy. I NEVER drank water before, but now it is a constant in my diet. I still have 1 diet coke a day, but I used to drink like 4 a day.
A great recipe I made tonight!
Chicken Marsala
6 oz. chicken
1 c. mushrooms
5 green onions, sliced
2 Tbsp. water
1/8 tsp. Morton's light salt
1/4 c. Cooking sherry or Marsala wine
Beat the chicken with a meat mallet until it is about 1/4 in. thick. Spray skillet with Pam and cook the chicken. When cooked, place chicken aside and keep warm.
Add mushrooms, onions, water, and salt to skillet and cook until mushrooms are tender and liquid is mostly evaporated.
Add Marsala until heated through. Pour veggies over chicken and enjoy. Very good and low in fat.
enjoy
