[font=Optima][size=7][color=purple]Hi all, I am new to this site. I am not new to dieting, though. Many of us are not. I have a 5 month old baby girl and a 6 year old boy. About a year and a half ago I decided to start dieting (in April it will be 2 years ago) I lost 72 llbs and decided to stop to have a baby. She is here now and I am back on my diet. I am 10 pounds above what I was when I got pregnant and am finding it very difficult to stay motivated this time. I do good about the food intake part, but worse about the exercise. I just cant seem to find enough hours in the day. I do get in about an hor 4 times per week, but before i was able to do at least an hour every day. I am on an 1800 calorie diet (per my MD) and I take 10mg of Meridia per day. I found this site and was hoping to find support here, or at least someone who understands how difficult it is.

I am in the same boat as you two. It is a challenge to find time to sit and plan meals, then make nutritious meals, exercise, and take care of my little ones. I have found it especially difficult during the cold season with my youngest requireing so much of my time. It would be nice to have support from others. I would exchange email as well!!!

Hi, I just joined this group for the exact reason that you are posting; I have a 9 month old baby and 5 lbs. of extra weight on me. I have had 5 lbs. left to lose for many months now, and I have decided that I can't do it alone. I lost 20 lbs after my baby was born, then another 10 in the 4 months following that just by going back to work and not eating like I was pregnant. This 5 lbs will not go away, however, and I still can't wear most of my pants.

I will say that other than this 5 extra lbs and post-breastfeeding-breasts, my body is the same. I did a Pilates video to get my abdomen back in shape (Melinda Bryan, awesome), and now I am the same as I was before. I don't believe that we can't recover completely, except for maybe our breasts. But, these 5 lbs. covering my old self are not flattering.

I finally decided yesterday that whatever I am doing is not working, and I need a diet plan. I spent $27 for access to weightloss 4 idiots, and I'm trying their diet. Have you all seen that diet advertised all over the place? It's basicly a menu generator that asks you what you will eat, and based on that it spits out an 11 day menu with 4 meals per day. The meals seem healthy and include all types of foods, unless you choose the vegetarian option, and there is no complicated cooking or preparation involved. It's just like Weight Watchers, or any other kind of diet plan, because the idea is to follow all the rules and eat what they say to eat. I need this now because I've had trouble figuring out how to lose weight since I turned 30, and now that I'm 32 and have post-baby pounds, I need rules to follow.

Has anyone else considered trying a diet plan that they've never tried before?

Okay, this is just too cool. I am going on 32 in a few months, I also have a 9 month old baby, and also I love Pilates!

I have never tried weightloss 4 idiots before so I can't give you any advice there. I do have quite a bit more than 5 lbs to lose (30). I have done Body for life before and that has helped. Right now it is not working because I just don't have time to work out 30 min to 1 hour 6x week. I am trying the 8 minutes in the morning program.

I was doing well for 2 weeks and it was working, then my baby got sick, wouldn't nurse or sleep for 2 weeks. I have 2 other children to take care of, a part time work at home job, and many other responsibilities, that I had no time for myself. Now things have settled and I am working on getting back to it. It's difficult getting back on right now with the holidays. My biggest goal right now is to not gain any weight. Then I hope to be cruising along. I am hoping to find support from others through this website.

I have such respect for all mothers now. Of course everyone has respect for moms, but now that I have a baby, I realize what it really means. I understand how there is no time for yourself, although I can't even imagine having more than one child! I come to work each day and relax! It is so much more work taking care of kids than a full-time job is. I completely understand how your priorities for yourself are almost impossible to fulfill. I stopped doing the 20 minute Pilates video b/c I needed that 20 minutes at home for other things. I couldn't find just 20 minutes! I completely understand that there is no time for exercise. I love how I feel when I'm doing it, but it's so hard to give up some extra sleep, or cleaning up a big mess in the kitchen, or chaninging the Diaper Genie, or assembling bottles, or feeding the pets, etc. I admire anyone who can exercise at all!

My weightloss for idiots diet is going very well. I've lost 3 lbs. in 4 days, and I was beginning to think that I would never lose those 3 lbs. I think the best part of it for me is that I'm having success early, and it makes it much easier to continue. I know that I'll do the same thing today that I did yesterday, and not just try, but actually do what I know worked the day before. Without following a diet I can lose one pound in one day, but I know deep down that I can't continue that if I'm deciding what to eat myself. I have one good day and then screw up for 3 days. So, following this menu works great b/c it takes my own poor judgement about what to eat out of the equation. It's also a very do-able menu, even with a baby.

We can do it! We carried babies for 9 months, got them out in an excruciating process, healed from that while feeding and caring for our kids! I am certain that we are more powerful than we, or anyone else, appreciates.
