Hey everyone. My name is Steve. I have been involved in the finess arena for 5 years now. Fitness and nutrition has been my passion since before it was even healthy for me to exercise with weights. I began at a very young age reading anything I could get my hands on regarding how and what you should eat, how you should train; and not just for myself, but for people where were different from me. Handicapped people, obese people; you name it I have done research on how they can and should train.

Eventually, I became certified as a personal trainer and have been helping people as much as I can at my local gym and a few in home sessions. However, I am also a financial advisor. Though this is not my passion and would love to leave the field completely, the money is too good and I plan on starting a family very soon. So I have to think of that first before I leave that financial field. My end goal is to open my own gym, and not just a regurlar gym. It will be a gym geared towards overweight individuals with weight loss being the primary goal.

Until then, I have found a way to reach more overweight individuals through a yahoo group that I created. If you do not know about yahoo groups, they are free communities that you can join just like this. If anyone wants to stop by and take a look around, please feel free. If you decide to join, please notate in your request that you came from this forum. The address for the group is http://groups.yahoo.com/groups/learn_to_live_healthy

I have always lived by the notion that the term "diet" should be erased from everyone's mind set. The only people that should diet, are fitness models and bodybuilders that need to shred the last bit of fat on the body temporarily for show. Diet is a temporary result that will ALWAYS lead to temporary changes to one's body. I promote a well balanced diet and healthy exercise plan to incorporate into your life. If you want permanant results, you must create a habitual lifestyle including proper nutrition, aerobic activity, and weight training plan.

Anyways, this forum looks great and I anxious to look around and see what it has to offer. What is the major goals that come from most of the members of this forum?? Is it weight loss, muscle growth, cardiovascular shape, etc.??

I look forward to communicating with you.

Take care,

Steve
