Too much sugar & carbs will do that to you... it is amazing how changing the kinds of foods that you eat can affect the way you feel. I don't even want to go back to eating the way I used to, because I feel so much better...plus am losing weight

Hi everyone. I registered just now and this is my first post. I am in the sugar boat too, using a hat called 'sugar'.
I googled and found this wonderful place to discuss issues of overweight. What caused me to register was a post by NIggles, now I cannot find the thread where NIggles posted??? Help.
I am considering the WeightLoss4Idiots - on line program, and was trying to determin if it was for real and to find some folks who were already on the program.
Confusing your metabolism sounded like a new workable thing. I can do really well for a number of days WITHOUT my sugar fix, but then it is almost a cartoon movie moment, the eyes bulge, and the feet take me to the sugar things that I myself have purchased. I live alone, lost my husband this year, and I appear to sabotage my NO SUGAR eating, yet I myself bring the sugar home to MYSELF.
I do not work, so therefore I am in control ? ? totally of MY food choices.
I do think that a person needs a certain amount of sweet, but just how much is PERFECT to keep the craving attacks at bay?

Sugar(how sweet!)...Maybe I am unusual, but once I gave up the sugar/high-glycemic foods & found out how much better I feel, it wasn't as hard as I had thought that it would be. Ofcourse, I am still eating sweets...use a sugar substitute to sweeten my coffee, tea or fruits & am quiet satisfied with that. In fact, I have some fruit with every meal & often in between.
However, I had a luncheon to attend this week & had a small piece of cheesecake, my absolute favorite dessert. Now, I have not been eating anything with sugar for a month, so I thought that this wouldn't hurt, but I felt as if I had taken some sort of drug...I felt light headed & quite different after that...amazing to "feel" the reaction to the sugar to my system. Don't think that I will do that again anytime soon! If you feel you need some motivation to change your eating habits, go to this link for some info on sugar: http://www.diet-i.com/glycemic-index-foods-list.htm

you CAN'T do anything about an addiction to sugar if you dont have a strong will power. thousands of years ago nomads NEEDED sugar and carbs to live, because they couldn't get a lot of mutrients from what they ate, so evolution tricked us...making it tasty so we'de eat more of it...but now we dont need it as much, and since evolution hasn't caught up to the 21st century yet..we have to deal...sorry, i'm not too great at advice, but i just explain things...
