Brad.........there is more to it than what you are doing (as you can see). Exercise is important.....but as we age nutrition is critical.

Brad,
First you need to know your resting metabolic rate (RMR). You can browse the net for RMR calculator. Your RMR, minus 500 calories per day (for everyday) will help you to lose about 1-2 pounds per week (without exercise). So if you lift weight, walk, etc simply means that you can consume more calories per day. However not to forget to eat more than 1000calories per day to boost up your metabolism. Eating less than this will trigger your brain as if you are in ‘starvation mode’; thus reduce your metabolism and it will make it difficult for you to lose weight.

Hope this helps.

Hello Brad,

Losing 10 pounds is easy. I see you have set a healthy weight loss plan. The best way to lose weight and keep the pounds off, is to go about 2 pounds weekly. Most important, besides watching what you eat and having your diet drinks, is to exercise at least 3 times per week.

You mention you are not losing weight despite following your designed weight loss plan. Have you check your food choices? calories? how often you eat? are you exercising enough? what type of exercises are you doing?

You may check some of my articles regarding "losing weight safely." In the meantime, you need to burn 3500 calories to lose 1 pound of fat. In a nutshell, doing cardio exercises for 30 minutes or 60 minutes can help you burn from 350-700 calories, depending on your intensity level. If you add 500 calories x 7... you will burn those 3500 calories. Your target is to lose "fat" not "water."

Look forward to hear from your progress. Do not give up.... hey, if I did it, so can you!

GO for it!

Anna
