Question Problem: Dont eat Fruit

Hi Guys and Gals,

This is my first post.

I'm a 27yo guy about 40kg overweight and have been looking for a diet that does not contain fruit. Unfortunately I dont eat any fruit. Never did. When I was a baby my father tried to force feed me bananas and apples but I could not hold it down. The same goes for any other type of fruit.

I know it is all in the head and I have tried different ways of getting the good stuff in but the only thing that seems to work is if it is a juice with nothing floating in it.

I used to be on a diet many years ago which did help somewhat and over 2 years I lost 10kg. It had wholeweat bread, ham, some cheese, low fat yogurt, spinach and broccoli (5 meals a day). I excersiced about 30min every day because of time constraint with work.

After about 2.5 years of eating the same thing everyday it felt like I was going nowhere slowly and gave up everything.

I'm despirate to lose weight. I dont care if it takes me another 2-3 years I just need to start something really soon. My wife is expecting our first child and I would love to be able to run around with our little one in the garden when he/she starts walking/running.

Please if anyone can give me some sort of direction/help with a diet that does not require fruit.

It kills me to ask this becuase I know some people will come out and just tell me to get over it and eat fruit. I just cant.

Hey Pluto,

I, too, don't like too eat too much fruit. Alongside that, it has too much sugar. Anyway, I think this diet -- Strip That Fat -- would help you on your goal; not only to lose weight, but for your disliking of fruit. You can read more about it from the link in my signature. Hope this helps in your quest.

My advice

Dieting does not have to be "all or nothing" I will suggest before giving up on fruit trying:
Fruit juice, Strawberry ice-cream, tomato (its a fruit), fruit smoothies, or anything like that. Just try to familiarize yourself with the sweet, crisp, satisfying taste of fruit.

If you can't/won't eat fruit under any circumstance then eat veggies instead in accordance to the food pyramid. That's 5 cups of plants a day.

Health is no longer just a desirable attribute, but a profound responsibility.

There are all sorts of fruit juice's out there. Alot appear to be great for you if you don't mind putting out a little $$! =)

I have the same problem as you but once I got into drinking juices I was fine. Ever heard of MonaVie? It is way to expensive for my tastes but have a lot of friends that drink it for the health benefits. If you don't want to spend money on it then I recommend looking else where just go up and down the grocery store isle and you should find something you can handle to drink.

You can get some fiber by replace the fruit with raw vegetables. And eat some oatmeal and soy bean products for the vitamins. But fi you still need more, you have to take a supplement or something
