Hi, I'm new here, and I've started a weight loss plan, and I am not going to stop till I achieve my goals.

Anyways, I was wondering if there is such a thing as burning TOO many calories a day? Currently, I am 28 years old, 5'10" and 212 pounds (at the beginning of February, I was 220 so I've lost about 8 pounds already) From the charts and everything, I believe I am suppose to consume 2000 calories a day in order to not lose or gain any weight.

I cut down to 1500 calories a day and exercise away 500 calories on the eliptical trainer, bringing my daily deficit to 1000 calories consumed. I take the weekends off and eat whatever I want. (Not gorge mind you, but eat normally)

Is this too few calories? I heard that if you don't consume enough calories, your body will go into famine mode, and keep as much fat as it can. But I am consuming 1500 a day, but exercising away an extra 500.

I've hit a plateau I think, because I haven't really lost any weight in two weeks and am stuck here.

So before I quit, I thought I would talk to you guys.
