My husband and I have been dieting about 7 months now, but things are getting dull. We are both trying to eat healthier- and that includes not turning our noses up to new and strange sounding foods. We’ve been generally the “meat and potatoes” type eaters, but we’ve been discussing how to incorporate whole wheat pasta into our otherwise unexciting menu. Can anyone suggest anything... recipes, brands, other alternatives? Whole wheat just doesn't taste the same as good ole pasta...

Good for you and your spouse going at this together. I can't get my hubby to join in the fight with me. To be honest, he doesn't need it like I do - he has a physically demanding job and he doesn't eat as much as me. He can afford to eat whatever he wants. Lucky dog.
As for recipes, I've got tons. I won't post them all on here because they'd take up a lot of space. Send me an email at mesasa1978@yahoo.com. Let me know the sort of recipes you're hunting for - veggies? meats? sides? - and I'll send you some real good ones.
As for whole wheat pasta, you're right. It's not the same, and it's definitely an acquired taste. For me, I found that if I used a really flavorful sauce, it helped make the whole wheat pasta go down easier. One good recipe:
Spicy Meat Marinara for Two:
1/2 lb ground extra-lean turkey breast
1/2 cup chopped red onion
1/2 cup diced zuchini
1 minced clove of garlic
1/2 cup dry red wine (optional)
1 15oz can diced red tomatoes w/chilies (Rotelle is the best!)
1 T Italian seasoning
Spray a large heavy (not a nonstick) skillet with Pam. Cook turkey, stirring frequently, until evenly broken up and browned. Add the onion, zuchini, and garlic, stirring until the onion begins to soften. It's ok if the meat and veggies begin to stick to the bottom of the skillet - this is where the flavor is! Poor in red wine (if using) and, using a big spoon or wooden spatula, scrape up all the browned bits that stuck to the bottom. If using wine, allow it to mostly evaporate. Add tomatoes and if you didn't use wine, now scrape the bottom of the pan to get up all the bits. Bring to a boil, and add the Italian seasoning. Reduce to a simmer, and cook for another ten minutes. Serve over pasta.
