My Journal

I am only 15, but my doctor told me I need to start losing weight.

The only thing is that losing weight is hard for me, I have an underactive thyroid, and it makes my metabolism really slow.

If I don't work on it now, then I will NEVER be able to lose weight when I'm older.

I am 5'2"

135 pounds.

I want to weigh about 125.

So I want to lose about 10 pounds.

Dieting is pretty easy, I've never eaten alot, so I just watch calories and fat grams and such. but the exercising is something I have problems with.

I can't go running outside, because lately it has been an average of about 10 degrees F, on a warm day.

and I would exercise inside, but it's hard for me to stay motivated. I do it for a day, then I give up.

How can I stick with my routine, without saying "I'm too tired, I'll do it later." ?

Thumbs up motivation

Wow, congratulations on starting to be healthy.

A few tips:
nobody can motivate you but you
you cannot lose weight and keep it off without exercising
start by buying a skipping rope and do only one minute of skipping a few times a day
get up every morning and skip for a few minutes - get it over quickly
exercise will focus your mind on healthy food choices as well
don't rely on will-power! make a plan, keep a plan and stay the plan

Thanks

Thank you. I can't do a lot right away, I actually hurt my back pretty bad today, so im just trying to walk around as much as I can without hurting it even more. I will do the skip-rope thing, and see how well that works for me, because I used to do that when I was younger, and I could do it for hours (I held the record at my elementary school for most jumps actually.) So that should be something that I can start up again pretty quick.
