Healthy Diet tips to really lose weight

Here is my suggested Healthy Diet Program to help you lose weight and keep the weight off.

1. I suggest a Mediterranean diet, which I see it as a healthy way of eating not as a diet, consisting of fresh fruits, fresh vegetables, bread, grains, olive oil (monounsaturated fat source), dairy products, fish and poultry, moderate red meat, and wine (optional).

For a healthy diet meal plan, you can eat every 3 hours healthy meal choices, making a total of 5 or 6 meals (small-moderate) a day to increase your ability to burn stored fat, increase your metabolic rate, and keep lean muscles, instead of just eating 2 or 3 large meals a day.

Make sure to include protein for breakfast and dinner. Have a balanced menu, do not go to extremes. Avoid junk food or super size me portions.

Your Healthy Diet Plan example will look like this:

Breakfast
Snack after 3 hours
Lunch
Snach after 3 hours
Dinner
light snack (depends at what time you go to sleep)

2. Exercise at least 3 times a week 30-60 min. cardio, and every 2 days weight lifting to tone your muscles and avoid stretch marks.

3. You may add some nutritional supplementes based on your needs.

4. Drink 6-8 glasses of water daily to flush toxins, eliminate waste, keep hydrated.

5. Have 2-3 cups of green tea daily to boost your metabolism and burn fat faster.

All the best,

Your Weight Loss Friend

Excellent Weight Loss Tips!

Anna, your tips are excellent for each and every member of this forum as you did not focus it on weight loss supplements that really to very little. But I have to add that if someone is worried about getting muscle they shoud give it little attention as it is very hard to gain muscle without years of intense training and nutrition and I would urge everyone to do strength training.

Here are more weight loss tips that you might be interested in.

Great posts: I've heard about chromium being a good weight loss supplement. It is supposed to help burn fat and curb appetite. Here's a brief article on the topic:

Study Shows Chromium Helps Weight Loss[u]

A 3-month double-blind study of 122 moderately overweight people found that 400 mcg of chromium daily resulted in an average loss of 6.2 pounds of body fat, as opposed to 3.4 pounds in the placebo group. There was no loss of lean body mass. These results suggest that chromium can help you lose fat without losing muscle.

It's a great way of losing weight but it's the traditionnal way and unfortunately, you don't lose weight quickly. I tried that too but it was too slow, so I did surgery but I still keep healthy eating habits and what you wrote up here is not only good for diets but also for weight control. Thanx for the tips anyway

Excellent post on diet tips for weight loss. I have been trying to get my mom some easy tips and when I showed her yours she took them and is starting to use them. I guess she will listen to you and not me.

I have tried this method of eating...after seeing a nutritionist. It's more food than I consumed before I started to diet. I have lost only 4 pounds in 4 weeks. Does anyone have any other suggestions? I need quick and easy food since I work two jobs and work out at the gym and walk most nights. I am 48 and frustrated that the pounds are not coming off. I need to lose about 15 pounds. Help...anyone?
